The largest military-security exhibition in Israel has found a new partner country. The very first ISDEF Japan will be held on August 29 and 30 this year. The event is supposed to gather exhibitors who are anticipating the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. The Avnon Group are still the same organizers behind ISDEF Japan, which it describes as an ideal opportunity for global companies who are active in protective services, cybersecurity, and counter-terrorism to participate in a competitive market.

ISDEF Japan is being held at the spacious Todoroki Arena. 21st Century Asian Arms Race (21AAR) is a media partner for the event.

For organizations wanting to become exhibitors, ISDEF Japan is the perfect venue for achieving international sales and entering a vibrant regional market. The organizers have also prepared a “live demonstration area” for product launches. As a further incentive for small and medium enterprises, these exhibitors can benefit from the exposure of participating in a high profile exhibition that will draw some very big names. There are also opportunities for meeting Japanese clients, whether in a B2B or B2G setting, who are willing to enter joint ventures.

Companies that participate in the homeland security niche are encouraged to register now. For questions, companies can reach out to the ISDEF sales team via sales@isdefexpo.com. The organizers behind ISDEF 2019 are promoting the event at the upcoming Eurosatory 2018, which is the largest arms show in France, and it’s possible to book an appointment with them.

For visitors, ISDEF Japan is a unique event where as many as 80 exhibitors and 100 delegations will be seeking new customers and showing off their latest products. Government employees and members of the armed forces and police are encouraged to register directly by email: government@isdefexpo.com. Any further inquiries can be brought up with: expoaffairs@isdefexpo.com.

The original ISDEF that’s held in Tel Aviv every two years is one of the best arms shows in the Middle East. During its last installment in 2017, the show enjoyed the largest number of exhibitors to date with 292 companies participating. This marked an almost 100% increase from ISDEF 2015 when just 154 companies exhibited. 58% of them were foreign, hailing from 24 different countries, with 42% of exhibitors being locals firms.

ISDEF 2017 had four pavilions for Israel’s major trade partners. These included India, the US, Czech Republic, and China. India had the largest pavilion, with 400 square meters of floor space for 50 companies. The US pavilion on the other hand was the biggest it had ever been for ISDEF and had 28 companies exhibiting their stuff. Only eight Chinese companies occupied their pavilion.

Southeast Asian countries also participated in ISDEF–Thailand and Singapore. But neither had a pavilion. Token exhibitors from Japan and Taiwan were present too. The most number of exhibitors at ISDEF 2017 belonged to the “Armaments/Ballistics” sector. The rest of the top five industry categories are C4ISR, CBRNe/EOD, counter-terrorism, and cybersecurity/electronic warfare.
