A Visual Companion To A Manila Gun Show

August 6, 2011

DSAS 26

Taking a break from the usual fare of this blog, here’s a visual feast for anyone who appreciates firearms of all types.

Every year, several dozen arms manufacturers and distributors gather for an honest to goodness gun show. Such events naturally draw in the usual enthusiasts and law enforcement types, but the ticket-paying public also joins in on the fun.

The following are a series of pictures taken by the author on Saturday, July 16 during the Defense and Sporting Arms Show in Manila, Philippines. The small arms below were displayed in the booths of Twin Pines Inc., Defense and Sporting Arms Gallery, PB Dionisio and Co. Inc., Espineli, Aquila, Imperial, and other companies.

Though a wide variety of firearms were on display (and on sale), moded CAR15s and M4 carbines were in abundance owing to their popularity in the Philippines. Also note the availability of the RONI kit for Glock pistols (see down south), Israeli TAR21s and its variants, plus a few excellent Norinco knock offs.

If the writer’s calculations are correct, this machine pistol costs $320.
